The Daily Anarcho-Stack: Why I am a Capitalist
This is coming from a Lockean / Mises point of view.
It appears most people, both on the Left and the Right have a lot of misgivings about what Capitalism is, what is a Capitalist, and the term Capital, in of itself. This is not surprising as it is not taught at the high school or undergrad level (and maybe not even at the Grad/ Ph.D. levels) but in the real world where the first indication of Capitalism is that somebody made more than you, so money is bad.
Capitalism, in its very basic definition is the personal and private property you have acquired under force, coercion, theft, or any fraudulent means. For example; I own my own body autonomy when I declined to get the Covid-19 vaccine under duress and I declined having a 401K retirement, and instead, I was inclined to hold Bitcoin and Gold because I own it outright and I can trade it without any Government or Corporate interference.
I know this is very simplistic overview of Capitalism but just know that any funding you make off of your Substack Subscriptions is a prime example of Capitalism in action. The articles you write, the art you make, and the chats you have are you own property. (I am not talking about Copyright as that is an entirely different conversation to have.) Taxes, tariffs, sanctions, fees, and / or other types of funds subtracted from your paycheck *without* your consent is *not* Capitalism. What this is, is anything but.

People criticize capitalism because the freedom it gives you implies a degree of responsibility, because if everyone does as they will the whole thing becomes Darwinian.
That’s a feature, not a bug tho, that’s how nature works.
The way you go broke because you are too triggered and feel that work violates your boundaries and the mere concept of other people’s freedom hurts your feelings, is the same way a lion would starve to death if he decided to not go to chase something.
PS: Its not simplistic its common sense. Unfortunately "Common sense is uncommon."
